Join the fun at KNIT! on Wednesday, May 4th starting at 12:00 and continuing until 5:00 when Dave and Pam Van Stralen, owners of LouetYarns, share with us their beautiful yarns, patternsand garments. It’s wonderful to see the passion they have for their fibers as this is a business Dave’s parents founded years ago and has become timeless.
Also, during this time we will have a raffle for a $25 gift certificate to the shop as well as a Louet Kit. Refreshments will be provided so come by and have some fun. Dave has also offered to do a tune up for anyone with a Louet spinning wheel.
The picture below is an example of the linen yarn from Louet.
That is our Marney!
Please stop by and see the very beginnings of our knit boutique. We will be offering a variety of items made from our yarns for you to purchase. This is great for that last minute gift idea for all ages. The adorable little pinafore to the right is a size 1 to 2 and is selling for $40. We are just getting started but expect to grow our inventory rapidly.
If you are interested in making something to be sold please give us a call at 407 767-5648.
More than likely these customers will be surprised to see themselves here. We are delighted that they consented to have their knitting on display. Thank you.
Our customers have such great ideas
We love sharing some of our old pictures. These are from a fashion show we had years ago.
Our master of ceremonies and a master of knitting.
This shrug was made by a new knitter.
Pictures from our third annual fashion show are above. I just couldn't bear to say goodbye to them.
MD Anderson contacted us with an appeal for knitted chemo caps. We have collected patterns for your use and with the help of Pam Knowles, there are many to choose from. The yarn should be very soft but is not limited by yarn weight. We were told that the hats are so popular that they would probably be put to use the day they are received.
We have always thought this would be a wonderful project. We have all known friends and relatives who have needed this thoughtful gift. Now we have a place where they are needed. In an effort to make this donation easier for our knitters, we will give you a 20% discount on all yarn you purchase to make a chemo hat. Please join us in making this a success.
